Using ChooseMap

ChooseMap lets you browse geographic maps, adjust their appearance, create map compositions, and export files. Use the service lawfully and do not interfere with its operation or other people’s access to it.

By using ChooseMap, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

The map library and Studio may change as we improve the product. Features, source data, and availability are not guaranteed to remain the same.

Pricing and payment availability

The planned ChooseMap Lifetime plan costs US$19 as a one-time payment, with no subscription, recurring charges, or automatic renewal. See the Pricing page for the plan and its availability.

Purchasing and paid access are not yet available. ChooseMap currently collects no payments, and the available features can be used without payment. Using the current version does not create a purchase, a debt, or a paid lifetime entitlement. You will not be charged automatically when paid access launches.

Before purchases open, we will publish the payment provider, any applicable taxes, the final checkout total, and instructions for receiving and accessing your purchase. Payment will require your explicit agreement through the checkout process.

What lifetime access includes

The US$19 Lifetime plan includes all ChooseMap features available at the time of purchase and subsequent updates to those features. Future features or products offered as separate paid offerings are not included; their scope and price will be stated separately before you choose to purchase them.

Lifetime access has no fixed expiry date or renewal fee and lasts for the operating lifetime of the ChooseMap service, subject to these terms. It does not mean a guarantee that the service will operate forever. Your access remains subject to the suspension and termination provisions below and to applicable consumer rights.

Lifetime access does not add cloud storage or backups to features that currently save projects locally. Keep downloaded copies of work you need to preserve.

Refunds

No payments are currently collected, so there are no purchases to refund at this time. The US$19 lifetime plan is not yet available to buy.

Once purchasing opens, the one-time lifetime payment is non-refundable except where a refund is required by applicable law, a duplicate payment has been collected, or we are unable to deliver the purchased access. Change of mind, choosing to stop using ChooseMap, or not using purchased access does not qualify for a refund, unless applicable law requires otherwise.

For a confirmed duplicate payment, we will refund the extra charge. If we are unable to deliver the purchased access, we will refund the payment for that purchase. Refunds required by law will be handled in accordance with that law. Nothing in these terms excludes mandatory consumer rights or remedies.

To request a refund or ask about a charge, email [email protected] with the purchase email, transaction date, receipt or reference number, and a description of the issue. We do not impose an additional contractual request deadline for these exceptions; applicable legal time limits still apply. Do not send full card numbers or payment credentials.

Eligible refunds will be returned through the original payment method where available. We will confirm the outcome by email; the time it takes for funds to appear depends on the payment provider and your bank. A full refund of a purchase ends the paid access associated with it; refunding an extra duplicate charge does not cancel the valid purchase.

Your responsibilities

You are responsible for your use of ChooseMap, the content you add, and the way you use or share exported maps. You must have the rights needed for that content and comply with applicable laws and other people’s intellectual property and privacy rights.

You must not use ChooseMap for unlawful or fraudulent activity, distribute malicious code, disrupt or overload the service, attempt unauthorized access, or bypass security or access restrictions. You are responsible for harm caused by your unlawful use or breach of these terms to the extent provided by applicable law.

Suspension and termination

We may restrict, suspend, or terminate your access if you materially violate these terms, engage in fraud or abuse, threaten the security or availability of the service, or if required by law. Where practicable, we will explain the reason and give you an opportunity to resolve the issue. We may act immediately for serious violations, urgent security risks, or legal requirements.

During a suspension you may be unable to use some or all features. On termination, your permission to access the service ends. This does not transfer ownership of your content to ChooseMap or erase files already downloaded to your device. Locally saved projects may become inaccessible through Studio, so keep project backups.

You can stop using ChooseMap at any time. There is currently no account to close; you can delete local projects and clear browser storage. To ask about or contest an access restriction, email [email protected]. Suspension or termination does not remove any refund or other rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Your projects and exports

Studio saves projects in your browser’s local storage. There is no ChooseMap account or cloud project backup in the current product. You are responsible for downloading project backups if you need to preserve or move your work. Clearing browser data, changing browsers or devices, or losing access to your device may remove locally saved projects.

You may use the maps you create and export, subject to any rights in content you add yourself. ChooseMap does not claim ownership of your project content. You are responsible for making sure any text, images, or other material you add may be used in your intended way.

Map data and accuracy

ChooseMap uses map geometry from Natural Earth. Its vector and raster map data are in the public domain under Natural Earth’s terms of use. Geographic names, boundaries, administrative divisions, and collection membership can be incomplete, disputed, or out of date. They do not imply endorsement of a particular claim or political position.

Check map data against authoritative sources before using it for decisions where geographic accuracy matters. Exported SVG files are designed to remain editable, but compatibility with any particular design application is not guaranteed.

Service limitations

ChooseMap is provided as available. We cannot guarantee uninterrupted access, error-free output, preservation of local browser data, or fitness for a particular purpose. These terms do not limit rights that cannot lawfully be limited.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms when the service changes. The effective date above shows when this version took effect. Continued use after an update is subject to the revised terms.
